The system supports the following voter statuses:
- Regular
- Suspended
- Canceled
- Non-Registered
The default status for new voters is regular, these voters can vote in any elections.
Suspended voters can vote only in federal elections.
When voters move, die or lose ability or right to vote, their status is changed to canceled.
Every status change is recorded in the system change log.
The system also allows the user to enter non-registered voters. This category is used for those who don't need to register to vote or don't vote at all. For example, election authorities can use poll workers from other jurisdictions or local people who don't wish to register to vote.
Only canceled (and non-registered) voters may be deleted. The status of regular or suspended voters must be changed to canceled before they may be purged from the system database. This constraint helps to make sure that no regular or suspended voters are deleted by mistake. Non-registered voters may be added and deleted at any time.
