Populex® Voter Registration comes with over 100 parameterized reports, including general lists with various selection criteria, specialized forms (like absentee applications, voter ID cards, envelope labels), and statistical reports. Populex will create or customize reports depending on customer needs. In addition, any screen or tabular data on the screen can be turned into a report to be printed or exported to a file. The user may also add reports to batches to be printed later.
Canned Reports
Populex® Voter Registration comes with a multitude of built-in reports (over 100). All reports are carefully categorized and are easily accessible from the main application screen. A user may easily narrow and arrange the data to be printed with a variety of filtering and sorting criteria. There is a flexible preview for reports, from which a user may zoom-in on the report, verify data and layout, export data, or add the report to a batch. Each report stores the last used printer settings, a convenient feature when certain reports are always printed on a specialized printer (for example, mailing labels) or on a printer loaded with a specific stationary (for example, voter ID cards).
Where applicable, reports are also accessible from other screens like: Search, Voter, Absentee.
Each individual form may be printed (a screenshot report) and each grid/table can be turned into a formatted report. The latter is very useful for printing search results.
Batch Reporting
Any report can be saved for later printing by adding it to a batch. Reports of the same type and targeted to the same printer may be combined and printed at a later time. A user can also choose to print parts of the batch at different times. This feature is useful, for example, for mass-printing certain reports at closing time, or when stationary is reloaded to the printer, or for scheduling a large printing job to be executed during lunchtime, etc.
Custom Reporting, Exporting Reports
Any report can be exported into CSV (Comma-Separated Values) format and the exported data may be loaded into a 3rd-party application such as Microsoft Excel, Access, OpenOffice, etc. The user may then further process the data by filtering, grouping, sorting, or tallying it.
The Populex® Voter Registration database is accessible from any ODBC-aware application for mail-merge and custom reporting functionality. Such applications include: Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Query, Microsoft Access, Crystal Reports, etc.
Barcodes
Populex® Voter Registration is capable of printing almost any type of 1D (linear) barcodes. For example, type Code39 barcodes that are printed on voter ID cards and absentee application forms are supported by the system.
