1. Voter is given a blank ballot which he or she places into the top of the Populex™ voting machine.
2. Voter removes stylus.
3. Voter uses stylus to make his or her selections on the touch-activated computer screen. The system will not allow for overvotes, and if the voter leaves a race blank, it will confirm this was his or her intention.
4. Once the voting process is complete, the system prints a bar code and corresponding “punch” numbers which contain the voter’s selections.
5. The voter removes the ballot and can verify in privacy using a computerized read station. The voter then submits the ballot to an election official to be counted.
